About

I am a Postdoctoral Research Scholar at Columbia Business School. I completed my Ph.D. from the Psychology Department at Stanford University.

I study obstacles to effectively communicating across divides. By “divides,” I mean differences in status, identity and ideology as well as everyday disagreements that often make conversations feel risky or difficult. I am passionate about identifying ways to improve these everyday interactions in an increasingly interconnected and polarized society. I accomplish this through interdisciplinary collaborations and by deploying longitudinal conversation experiments and intervention field studies.

My work has been published in top academic journals including Psychological Science, Science Advances, and the Journal of Experimental Psychology: General.
